This page belongs to a survivor — a woman whose name for herself says the whole testimony: gracefully restored.
Her story
In 1996, Marilyn was a young mother raising a daughter and a newborn son, coming out of a hard relationship and doing whatever the streets put in front of her to feed her children — including work she never would have chosen. The streets are rough. Anybody who has lived it knows.
But that is not where her story stops. She overcame it — all of it — and came out the other side standing in grace. Restored is not a word she borrowed. It is a word she earned, and it is the name she chose for herself.
Where she stands today
Today Marilyn stands as a giver. Through the hardest year of her friend James Bosarge's life — the year he lost his mother — she stood with him and with the Still Standing mission, helping carry work that helps other people find food, shelter, recovery, and hope. She serves as a director of Still Standing Christianity, Inc., the nonprofit now being formed. The restored become the restorers. That is how grace works.
Her door
This is her door on the internet — built with love, at her pace, for her own voice to fill. More to come as she makes it her own.
